Tigertone Rick "Chops" Modica '99 was killed by a drunk driver during the group's spring tour to Florida on March 22, 1997. The next year, the Princeton a cappella community came together in his memory, performing both as individual groups and, in a historic first, collectively as one. The concert, held in Richardson Auditorium, featured the Tigertones, the Nassoons, the Footnotes, the Tigerlilies, the Tigressions, the Wildcats, the Katzenjammers, and the Roaring 20.
